The idea of it is great and I already had a text-based to-do list going on with a combination of nvALT syncing to Simplenote/Dropbox and using the Listary app. But having so many dependencies was a pain, hence me trying out todo.txt. Its pretty basic at the moment and really only half useful. It needs to critical things to make it really usable:
- Merge. It must be able to merge with the existing file on my dropbox, otherwise I cant work on different devices usefully.
- Maintaining visual hierarchy in the text file. At present, the app just appends any tasks at the end of the text file, but this doesnt reflect the view (projects, priority, etc.) that youve set in the app. Again, it makes it annoying to use on another device or app (like nvALT) because I cant keep track of whats important to do, which is the main idea of a to do list.
